Brows have to be number one here – why? because making new eyebrows every morning seems to be the most frustratingly annoying and anxiety producing part of most women’s makeup regime 🙂

So much better to have a lovely natural brow that suits you, that will look good on you and help bless your days, even when certain other ‘looks’ have faded to oblivion.

At Gentle Cosmetic tattoo, we have seen trends come and go, shapes that have seen better days. We are able to gently lift out or correct dubious colour choices from your brows with suggested options.

Hair-stroke simulation is still a great favourite, 3D artistry incorporated via hair-stroke (feathering) and a powder finish works well for some. Natural Vegetable pigments from the U.S have proven to last and last. They fade over time beautifully and naturally.

Please be patient after deciding on micropigmentation. Skin varies enormously from person to person. Genetics, age, skin type, medications, circulation, bruising and expectation all plays a part in healing. We welcome your questions and expect you to come in for the initial treatment, followed by at least one, sometimes two added visits.

Eyebrow tattoo procedures can give your brows symmetry, shape and life to your face whilst being less expensive here than other beauty treatments, it takes much of the guesswork out of your morning.

Prices are listed and include an in-depth consultation (talking, listening, drawing brow shape with colour) topical anaesthetic, and initial tattoo procedure and resting with a cold pack.

Janey

With Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo being well underway for quite a few years, we advise over cosmetic tattoo and its after-care.

Micro-blading, micro-feathering, feathering and semi-permanent makeup, call it what you will is still implanting cosmetic tattoo pigments superficially (between the dermal and epidermal layer) into the skin. These are implemented with a small device into which a needle assembly is inserted, or a small machine depending on the procedure required.

Any makeup or lotions apart from those suggested at the time of your session should be left until after the areas have healed. This would usually be 7 to 10 days. When after-care cream is suggested use sparingly at night and morning, and during the day for comfort.

Your skin will be settled and well ready to receive your 2nd procedure, 3 to 8 weeks after the first.

Please do not try to hurry the peeling process. Sometimes people cannot help but pick or rub the area. I understand, however it is worth waiting for your cosmetic tattoo to gently exfoliate on its own.  At the sign of any infection, contact your pharmacist or cosmetic tattooist.

If your semi-permanent makeup is itchy, a sign it is healing nicely, a little after-care cream will sooth. Be aware that workouts, swimming, sauna, tanning beds or sun, does not help your skin retain new tattoo makeup. I often suggest an SPF balm, for ongoing protection of new brows.

Most salons will advise you to wait for their skin treatments, knowing you have had, or are preparing to see a cosmetic tattooist.

Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo uses iron oxide free pigments and all latest pigments to suit your skin.

With Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo being well underway for quite a few years, we are always advising regarding cosmetic tattoo and it’s after-care.

Micro-blading, micro-feathering, feathering and semi-permanent makeup, call it what you will is still implanting cosmetic tattoo pigments superficially (between the dermal and epidermal layer) into the skin. These are implemented with a small tool into which a needle assembly is inserted, or a small machines are used, depending on the procedure required.

Considering the structure of your skin, you may be advised to ‘dry-heal’ your tattoo in which case you will keep the tattooed area as free from ointments or water as possible. Any makeup or lotions apart from those suggested at the time of your session should be left until after the areas have healed. This would usually be one to two weeks. If after-care cream is suggested. Please use sparingly, night and morning, and during the day for comfort.

Your skin will be settled and well ready to receive your 2nd procedure, 2 to 8 weeks after the first.

Please do not try to hurry the peeling process. Sometimes people cannot help but pick or rub the area. I understand, however it is worth waiting for your cosmetic tattoo to gently exfoliate on its own.  At the sign of any infection, contact your pharmacist or cosmetic tattooist.

If your semi-permanent makeup is unbearably itchy, a sign it is healing nicely, a little coconut oil should suffice. Be aware that workouts, swimming, sauna, tanning beds or sun, does not help your skin retain your new tattoo makeup. I often suggest an SPF balm, especially for your beautiful new brows.

Most salons will advise you to wait for their skin treatments, knowing you have had, or are preparing to see a cosmetic tattooist.

Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo uses iron oxide free pigments and always the very latest pigments to suit your skin type.

Consultations are always generous and free.

All mums’ appreciate the thoughtful gift of a cosmetic tattoo procedure. For the month of May and June we are offering $50 off your mum’s brow tattoo procedure. Cosmetic tattoo is also called micro-blading, semi-permanent makeup, waterproof makeup, tattoo makeup, and feathering, among other references. Techniques and tools may differ but we are still talking about tattoo. Gone are the days though, of harsh tattoo inks on the face. Instead you have soft, pretty and compatible colours. At Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo pigments are individually blended, and iron oxide free.

We will listen to you and offer ideas or suggestions if you wish,  to enhance your face with semi-permanent tattoo.

Just mention this blog, and there will be $50 off a new eyebrow 2nd procedure. A 2nd procedure is standard to a finished look. In some cases of cosmetic tattoo, following sessions are important, especially for corrective tattoo or more detailed work.

It’s just a phone call or email for a chat. Remember consultations are free.

In today’s world there are many things you want or need to do before the sun comes up.

Unfortunately there is some pressure to look good most of the time, if not all the time.  Very fortunately there is this wonderful thing called semi-permanent makeup or cosmetic tattoo.  Actually it’s also referred to as 3D, feathering, hairstrokes, microblading, eyebrow embroidery and micro-pigmentation all meaning pigment is implanted in the upper dermis layer of the skin.

After the initial treatment, the layer on the surface eases itself off during the healing procedure, with a little help from aftercare instructions.  After a week or so,  the area feels smooth and the colour implanted is seen softer and lighter as if looking through a veil.  It’s exciting to see this, and great to realize you have beautiful, symmetrical brows that don’t wash off and in fact, last for months at a time.

Cosmetic tattoo does fade, and particles as with all foreign bodies eventually disintegrate, as healing by the immune cells takes place.

UV rays do a fine job of bleaching the makeup tattoo, behaving like a laser over time.  Sun and chemicals can damage so take care while using glycolics, Retin A, and various anti-aging products.  SPF lip balm or screen is handy for lips and great for brows too.  They come water-proofed as well!

Lips tend to fade faster than some other cosmetic tattoo as they are pale and moist a lot of the time with eating and drinking etc.  Lighter colours in brows can fade quicker than darker shades but as you now have balanced brows, a brow powder can look good until your next refresh.

Eyeliner tattoo wears well as black is so popular although you can always be more flamboyant.  Ask me about this!

So semi-permanent makeup is like any other beauty procedure and may require refreshing every year or so, keeping up with skin and hair changes.

A small price to be cosmetically freer in today’s world.

Every skin is different but over time the body breaks down foreign bodies whenever possible to eliminate what wasn’t there naturally.

I decided to add a last minute blog for May as my tablet has been at the shop for repair and my May blog disappeared!  So here are a few thoughts.

I’ve been asked about micro blading a lot lately.  Micro blading is another name for cosmetic tattoo hair-strokes, feathering, eyebrow embroidery, micro-pigmentation and the list goes on. It’s when semi-permanent tattoo is applied with a hand-tool.

A beautiful and very natural technique we do at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo is ‘sketching’.  When an eyebrow is sketched with the right apparatus, extra fine hairs are ‘built’ into a brow design that will have you fascinated.  Every technique done here requires two sessions.  The first sketching heals in fine brow hair,  and the result is extra subtle which is great for you ladies who are nervous about tattoo makeup.

Makeup tattoo is exactly that – Tattoo but our pigments are a far cry from body tattoo inks (which are right for body tattoos).  Cosmetic tattoo pigments age with you, so as  your skin alters along with eyebrow, eye and lips shape it is easy to transform fading colour into what is right for you now and later.

As with all cosmetic tattoo even beauty spots, we start conservatively.  Always, but always a good idea!  Soft natural shapes can change with just a few extra strokes into chic or seductive. Sometimes it takes only one or two tiny additions to make that difference.  I especially enjoy the face that lends itself to a special individual look.

All this is done with semi-permanent tattoo that lasts months and years depending on your skin and is in most cases, virtually pain-free.

We suggest maintenance each year at minimal cost.

Call us, and cheers for June coming up.

What’s in a name?  Semi-permanent make-up, micro-pigmentation, hair-stroke tattoo, cosmetic tattoo, permanent make-up, embroidery tattoo, tattoo make-up, feathering, microblading? Yes they are all the same.   We are talking about tattoo.  The lovely thing about this specialised work is the colours and procedures are very different.  An artist of cosmetic or medical tattoo would not use the machines or inks that artfully produce pictures and scrolling on the body.

There is much skill involved in creating exquisite brows, eyes and lips with cosmetic tattoo. Look for a highly experienced artist and come into his or her clinic confident that your approval will be asked for before the semi-permanent design is applied.

Sometimes scars and  face structure present unusual challenges for your professional.  At Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo, we explain muscle and bone structure and rely on your intelligence, understanding and trust to continue.  Remember too, that the consultation is especially designed so you may ask questions and decide if micro-pigmentation is really you.  We as professionals also may decide whether we will pursue a client’s wishes.

Always take time to read your consent form .  We require you to let us know about ALL medications and supplements taken.  Do not take this lightly because you want hair-stroke brows.  There are some conditions we are pleased to explain why it is better to use traditional make-up rather than semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo.

Please let us know while making an appointment, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.  We would rather you wait.   Anti-depressants and other important meds you need every day?  Do let us know at the time of making an appointment, and most definitely before signing your forms.

The surrounds are gorgeous and peaceful here at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo and you will be treated like a princess, or in more and more cases, a prince!

Have a glorious October, and be gentle on yourselves as the end of the year is approaching  fast.

Have a look at the ‘Special’ page too.

Cheers,

Janey
