Trends come and go, yet over the many years Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo has maintained impeccable standards in giving you as natural as possible semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo.

Today I saw a beautiful Swiss woman whom I last saw quite a few years ago. Her brows were soft and still pretty. There was less brow hair but the tattoo makeup was still evident. It took a trip back to Europe to jump-start the need for new brows. Ideally refreshing after a year or 18mths can really make you feel gorgeous. Far less expensive too at our clinic than various beauty treatments elsewhere. We like to keep our special clients and know you nine times out of ten, want a lovely natural looking set of brows! This we can do. Something that suits you…not the same brows as everyone else.

As trends ultimately shift and change. We are always mindful that what you thought you liked a couple of seasons ago may be not quite right now, as complexion, appearance, hair, and life-style have gone through radical changes. To keep up, you will need a little help or a complete brow revamp.

We understand that you need a cosmetic tattooist who takes time and listens, and enjoys seeing a positive outcome with you.

Eyebrows are not all we do at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo.

Cheers,

Janey

You have thought about cosmetic tattoo for a long time now. Or you’ve been looking at someone else’s flawless makeup day after day and now it’s your turn, right? I hear this all the time! My clients often say to me, “I have wanted to do this for so long”….and later, “why didnt I do this years ago?”

The following pre-care notes are valuable in helping with your decision to go ahead with semi-permanent tattoo as it is known in Australia.

First I’d like to say that  there are certain young people under 18yrs old out there who would like this specialised makeup, but unless there are special circumstances and you have your physician’s advice this is a no, no. For most other individuals, if you have a confident sense of self, are mentally and emotionally prepared, and really want this for you, then step right up!

Always prior to treatment, keep your skin free of skin medications. Skip Retin A, Glycolic Acid or other treatments prior to this work. Wait 48hrs before waxing, tinting lashes and brows, electrolysis or lash perming. Although I have eyelined a lovely client who is never without her eyelash extensions, I have asked her to come to her second appointment with bare eyelids, for maximum colour implantation close to the lash line. Clients sometimes prefer a good tattooed eye-liner or lash enhancement to continuing with lashes every few days or weeks.

Contact lenses are shelved for a couple of days or more  if possible…..bring along your specs for your first appointment.

Need antibiotics prior to going off to the dentist? Chances are you may need them before these procedures too.  Be cleared by your doctor first please.

Are you regularly taking Vitamin E, Niacin, St. John’s Wort, Ginko biloba? It is advised to halt those for 3 or 4 days as well, if you can. Let me be aware of supplemented foods or if your diet is rich in certain fruits, vegetables or beverages.

It’s an idea to schedule your procedures after your menstrual period, that’s if you’re prone to extra sensitivity.  When you feel your best and are in good health that’s always the right time for colour implants.

An easy bruiser? Arnica tablets before eyeliner treatments are often swear-bys. Blood thinners are also not designed to make cosmetic tattooing easy. Again, talk to your doctor – it may be you are not  a suitable candidate. Asprin or Ibuprofen can promote bleeding, so choose Panadol or similar an hour before, if you feel you’d  like to. Remember we are able to advise.  Alcohol and any strong stimulants are hopelessly effective blood thinners

Medical conditions such as hepatitis, type1 diabetes, heart concerns, psoriasis or any blood borne communicable diseases – please advise, you may or may not be suitable for these treatments.

Wait until pregnancy and breast feeding are over. Believe me, the convenience is worth the waiting!

Lip blushing, lip-line and blending, or any lip tattoo can mean cold sores, fever or sun blisters. They will surely be activated by trauma or stress to the skin if you are prone to outbreaks. There are ani-viral medications such as L-Lysine which are taken for 2 wks before treatment, a double dose on the day and the following 7days. Alternatively there is Zovirax ointment or Vectavir cream which again counteract or minimise the occurrence of the above.

Cosmetic tattoo is very safe and allergic reactions are rare. If you do suffer allergies however, we are able to perform a  test well prior to treatment.

As you read through the above, you’ll see the advice is common sense, but do take it seriously to be prepared.

See you soon!

Already we’re into May where in this part of the world it’s getting just a little chilly at night with glorious days of sun.

Mother’s Day is only around the corner. Any mum will love a semi-permanent mother’s day pampering!

A mention here that cosmetically tattooed lip colour is one of those procedures you wish you had done years ago. A client told me that her blushed lips were noticed by staff and patients when she unexpectedly spent a few days in hospital. Compliments at such a time can really give you a lift! Other unexpected compliments come when you are camping, on holiday, or at work when you can say to your colleague/s “yes, it’s tattoo”.

We in the cosmetic tattoo world know micropigmentation is not necessarily in place of traditional or topical makeup. Many of you, myself included enjoy cosmetics and it’s easy to wear different lip colours over blushed tattooed lips. Semi-permanent makeup done well and on it’s own, gives us confidence, and means we can feel good anywhere. It’s so we don’t look completely bare except for some careful makeup (smile).

Hair strokes can be etched into the brow area with a hand-tool or machine. Depending on the experience of your artist, one procedure is as good as the other. At Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo, we enjoy the individuality of free-hand design before making your tattoo makeup semi-permanent.

Be aware, that all skin is not the same! Some procedures require one (rare) but usually two or more procedures. It’s well worth having cosmetic tattoo etched into the skin in a way that is right for you, with refreshers every six months or yearly.

Have a wonderful MAY.

Cheers,

Janey

You may feel you will have to live with your semi-permanent makeup from other places and other times. It makes an astonishing difference though when outdated ideas, colours and shapes are gently removed. We like to give a natural brow look that you can wear anywhere. We do that with microblading, nano-blading, ombre, misting and combinations of procedures. We can always add more tattoo makeup when you are sure it’s a great idea to do so.

Lighter tattoo makeup pigments will require a refresh earlier than darker shades but what is most important is that the original colour will age in a way that pleases you. This is why we carry various lines to suit, including oxide-free tattoo pigments.

Plasma Fibroblasting is a beautiful way to resurface the skin, to ease away lines, unwanted freckles and age spots. So many times we hear people say they wish they had come in years ago. Still, there’s never a better time than right now.

Cheers and keep healthy,

We are letting you know that in June our doors will be open.

We welcome you to phone chat or visit and will be so happy to see our established clients and friends again.

Semi-permanent makeup is something most women have seriously thought about at some stage. A fine eyelash enhancement, eye lining, natural hair-stroked brows, or a lip-line blended to show off your lips again are just a few of the simple tricks that suddenly say “I’m here!” The best part is you can forget it all on a daily basis – jazz things up a little for evening or special times. Cosmetic tattoo can give you the freedom to enjoy a natural look without wondering if you have ‘done it right’ or whether in fact your makeup is still on your face!

Please arrange to come into our clinic, one at a time. You will enjoy a tranquil environment whilst every precaution is in place to keep you COVID safe.

Bless, and Cheers!

Janey

Sometimes I see you have beautiful features and you know what cosmetic tattoo procedures you want. It intrigues me how some of you leave your lips untouched. This is for a few reasons; you might be aware that lipstick and crayons contain traces of lead, and other metals. These may be swallowed or at least absorbed through the mucosal tissues in the mouth. You may tend to reapply colour repeatedly during the day and night and it’s almost as if it is a habit or afterthought. In USA there have been studies on metals present in various popular brands. Manganese, Cadmium, Chromium, copper, nickel to name a few. Typically, some of these additives stabilise the product or adds shine and glitter.

Semi-permanent make-up, is the option. Cosmetic tattoo lip blush, lip-line or line & blend are decisions based on how much natural colour you already have. Lip tattoo is without doubt one of the better beauty enhancements you can give yourself. As our lips succumb to the elements + we can fool ourselves and everyone else that we have a wider, plumper more attractive pair of lips after the careful application of micro-pigmentation. Even the merest suggestion of colour (blush) can work well but be aware that all cosmetic tattoo fades and needs a refresh every year or so, usually.

Apart from the sheer good looks of lip tattoo, there is the peace of mind our lip inks and pigments are safe.

I believe most women are enjoying more natural procedures now and love it when friends, family and colleagues don’t quite know how they get their makeup looking super subtle and lovely.

Don’t forget to check our fibroblasting procedures and tattoo removal. A phone call and chat is a nice way to simplify your queries.

Cheers,

Janey

There is nothing like having an artist create your eyebrows, so you can awaken to spectacular brows in the morning.

Feathered brows are by far the most frequent procedure in Cosmetic Tattoo. Why is that? It’s because you can spend literally hours a week trying to get those eyebrows symmetrical. In the end, you could have stepped out into the busy world unruffled, having had a wholesome breakfast and maybe an extra cup of coffee! That might be an exaggeration but you know what I mean. Semi-permanent makeup artists continue to use techniques, tools, and colorants that are up to the minute.

For October, Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo offers Feather stroked Brows, Micro Feathering, Powder shadowed Brows, Combination, and 3D Brows for the same rate as a first procedure – 300.

All semi-permanent tattoo fades, requires refreshers annually, 18mths, or 2 years and sometimes requires more than two procedures initially. Results can vary depending on individual resistance to pigment.

Still, there is nothing like having those perfect eyebrows in the morning for you to admire.

Janey

With Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo being well underway for quite a few years, we are always advising regarding cosmetic tattoo and it’s after-care.

Micro-blading, micro-feathering, feathering and semi-permanent makeup, call it what you will is still implanting cosmetic tattoo pigments superficially (between the dermal and epidermal layer) into the skin. These are implemented with a small tool into which a needle assembly is inserted, or a small machines are used, depending on the procedure required.

Considering the structure of your skin, you may be advised to ‘dry-heal’ your tattoo in which case you will keep the tattooed area as free from ointments or water as possible. Any makeup or lotions apart from those suggested at the time of your session should be left until after the areas have healed. This would usually be one to two weeks. If after-care cream is suggested. Please use sparingly, night and morning, and during the day for comfort.

Your skin will be settled and well ready to receive your 2nd procedure, 2 to 8 weeks after the first.

Please do not try to hurry the peeling process. Sometimes people cannot help but pick or rub the area. I understand, however it is worth waiting for your cosmetic tattoo to gently exfoliate on its own.  At the sign of any infection, contact your pharmacist or cosmetic tattooist.

If your semi-permanent makeup is unbearably itchy, a sign it is healing nicely, a little coconut oil should suffice. Be aware that workouts, swimming, sauna, tanning beds or sun, does not help your skin retain your new tattoo makeup. I often suggest an SPF balm, especially for your beautiful new brows.

Most salons will advise you to wait for their skin treatments, knowing you have had, or are preparing to see a cosmetic tattooist.

Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo uses iron oxide free pigments and always the very latest pigments to suit your skin type.

Consultations are always generous and free.

Cheers,

Janey
