December

December is usually an interesting time. There’s holidays,  family presents and gatherings to organise for Christmas and a host of other things that are important to you personally and to your family and friends. Here’s truly a time where there  is hardly enough space to look after ourselves. Still with all of this, December is often the last dash for women to have important other things,  like cosmetic tattoo procedures done. It’s as if a lot of the year many have been pondering over what to have enhanced with micro-dermabrasion and it’s often November and December it’s ” now or never”.

One of the reasons that women hesitate deciding about cosmetic make-up is that they think all the eyebrow hair is waxed away before the procedure. This is not true and most cosmetic tattoo artists are pleased to use all available brow to design the new eyebrows. Occasionally I have had my clients have all brow hair waxed off the following week. The reason they tell me is because they love the new design so much, that is all they need. Personally I feel we could keep what we have,  intact although in many cases there is no, or little natural hair to work with. Here lies just one of the beauty’s of semi-permanent make-up. When women   lose eyebrow hair early in their adult life, the perfect answer is micro-pigmentation to replace eyebrow strokes. This is done within a fabulous powdered,  feathered or 3 dimensional look.

Another reason ladies are justifiably nervous about their brows (for example) is because they have seen incorrect shapes cosmetically tattooed. We at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo see that perfect eyebrows are very much in the eyes of the beholder, meaning in this case, you the client.

Another fear of the semi-permanent tattoo procedure  is, “will it all hurt”. We go out of our way to make sure you’re comfort is a prime concern. Now, I’m not going to say it just feels like a tickle initially. Everyone’s pain threshold varies, but when you know what you want and expect gorgeous brows, eyes and lips, somehow you settle in and wait till our cosmetic tattoo numbing gels and cremes make your makeup tattoo procedure comfortable. Then you wait just a few more days and remember why you made the effort.

Jessica will be looking after appointments until the 16th December and will give you her own experience of semi-permanent tattoo if you are interested.

Christmas is coming up soon!

Liplining and blending plus…

One of the greatest things I ever did for myself was enhance my own full lips with cosmetic tattoo. What an extraordinary difference in what had been a nice but unremarkable mouth because of lack of colour.  I remember my father saying to me as a child when I was already interested in lipstick, “it makes your lips lose it’s colour”.  Of course I know that not to be true and probably didn’t believe it then, but what I did know was that most women look particularly ordinary without a blush of colour on their mouths. It is  a common observation when one has barely stepped into the teens. Somewhere along the way to and from adulthood, and  certainly during and after menopause; there is a noticeable change in the colour, texture and shape of the mouth.

My client recently had her lips outlined and colour blended to balance and enhance what proved to be her best facial feature. The colour chosen is very natural and perfect for those who have scars or who need more of what they have. It blends with the natural skin and becomes part of you. In this particular case the result gave such an improvement that Jade could not wait to have the rest of the mouth cosmetically tattooed. Having already had her full  tattooed eyeliner finished, which gave her an elegance she had not seen before – Jade said the lips made her almost “too pretty”.  This comment was said out of sheer supprise when the implanted pigment healed after a few days.

The beauty of a natural lip colour enhancement is that one may just ‘be’ with it. It is an improvement on the natural lip in many of the various ways that one would want it. The vermilion line is the first to look worn and uneven with almost a ‘bleached’ look, and this can happen at any age.  We first ask you to draw your own desired lipline and we take a look at your favourite gloss or lipstick shades. Often ladies are not entirely sure what they want and will say “I want them like yours”. This may not be realistic as every lip structure and colour is different. The most natural lipline and blend, and full lip colour is ideal, certainly to start with, and gives a gentle but magnificent enhancement to the shape and colour of the mouth. Having said that, there are many beautiful shades.

April & May Cosmetic Tattoo specials – may be too good to miss

hello everyone,

Right now, I feel I’d like to write a book on the interesting people - no, fasinating people I meet in this business. When people feel comfortable with each other, they exchange ideas, thoughts, experiences and stories. I’m privileged to be able to say that cosmetic tattoo, together with my healing work brings about a wealth of the above. Every person has a story, and every person is special, without a doubt. This is why, to design semi-permanent eyebrows, eye-liners,  lip-line and lip-blend, and of course,  full lip tattoo is such an individual thing. They bring out the personality of the individual.

This month and next – Mothers Day remember… we are offering lip-liner and blend which is so popular,  with a half price under-eyeliner. Why underline? Because people seem to forget at times the effect that a soft under-eyeline, or darker (as the upper) can be. We also offer colours that acentuate the colour of the eyes. We can do great things together! I want to emphasise the fact that we do it together. Most ladies come in and inevitably say “I wish I’d done this years ago”. We hear this so often, in fact, all the time.  It’s true, and it’s also my own experience as well, so we understand you. Little by little, we work with the design and colour – nothing is done without y0ur consent and understanding. That way, you can look in the mirror each day and say “Yes, that looks pretty good!” After a short time, you don’t say that, you do tend to take it for granted in a way… and that’s very OK.

So, again, Lipliner and blend is the normal price (look at the site again) and half price for  under eyeliner for April and May.

As a footnote; on leaving, we give you a great little product to use especially after tattoo lip treatments. Mismo Cell Soother is  full of Aloe Vera and MSM. Vitamins A, B, C, E, A mino acids and a range of minerals help rejuvenate cells and soothe the skin.

Looking forward to meeting you, as usual!

Brows, Your new Face of the Future…

Hello, and Happy New Year everyone!

It’s been busier than usual. Whether that is a consequence of the vast rains we have had in this part of the country, I’m not sure. People have been perhaps spending more time thinking and organizing things for themselves for this year in the quiet of indoors,  rather than racing around outside in their spare time.

During this unusual whether, I have had many various requests lately for makeup tattooing.

One thing that seems to be on everyone’s minds is ”will you tattoo my eyebrows so they really suit me!”  This anxiety is a number one reason why women, I feel, hesitate to have semi-permanent makeup, and rightly so. How many times have we seen eyebrows that are too highly arched, where the artist seemed to have overused his/her creative licence?  As well, colour and flow of the brow is essential. It’s rare to have two brows the same as the bone structure and formation of our face is different on each side of the nose. I have clients who appreciate this and like the way one of their eyebrows’ is naturally slightly arched in a cheeky questioned manner, or a little more pronounced in some way. Often these clients ask me to “add that in” for the overall finished look.  They love the individuality of their own face. Others are wanting their eyebrows absolutely symmetrical – perfect in every way. That is the way they feel happy to face the world each day.

We know that all our clients appreciate the close working together to achieve the desired look. Above all, I believe, women want a natural, lovely brow that essentially suits them. One that can be altered in colour and shape if necessary, as their makeup tattoo slowly fades over time. Perhaps this is not an easily understood point?  The largest organ of the body, our skin, changes remarkably of the years. Weather factors, medication, makeups including skin products, personal habits, emotional issues,  and environment, affect our skin enormously. It is because of these issues, cosmetic tattoo also fades.

This is a great opportunity! Over the years I have worked and changed “my ladies’ ” permanent makeup to suit. Things never stay the same, and need not either.

Have a Happy and wonderful New Year. We look forward to helping you change your face of the future. Sounds cheesy I know! But we love it.

Extension of Our Half Price Offer……..

We’ve been getting a few frantic calls from women and a sprinkling of men who have been asking about the half price offer of Makeup tattoo this month. At this moment it is the last day of November and we understand that things are a little hectic.

Janey has extended the HALF PRICE PROMOTION until the end of December with a slight change. Mention that you found on this site, the following special. Have ONE procedure 50 percent off and choose another for 50 percent off as well. Simple!

We had a young  mum phone today fretting she’d left it too late for the special. When ‘Paula’  goes back home to take over from her babysitter, she will not only have a lovely pair of brows but an elegent half underline on her eyes……..perfect for her confidence and personal wellbeing while sometimes struggling with the ealy stages of motherhood.

Another client phoned through with lesions on his scalp “I just need a couple of sports scars filled in”. Cosmetic tattoo is so effective here and makes such a differentce to how one feels.

Yet another phoned from New Caledonia “I’m taking an early Christmas break, may I take advantage of the offer?” ……yes, come on over and relax over your face while you soak up the sun. Remember always wear protective sunscreen and hat to protect your cosmetic tattoo, or semi-permanent makeup as it is known in Australia.

Don’t delay, any other queries, just ask – and be stress-free. Have these beautiful procedures and get on with the rest of your life.

Wishing you well,

Janey and her team.

More Questions & Answers on Lip procredures

Question:  Hi Janey, I’ve been wanting you ask why would women want lip line and blend and others want a full lips procedure?

Answer: What the lipline and blending is about is the tapping in of a lipline first. People ask for this when they want change to their lipline, e.g if the lip line has faded away or the mouth is slightly crooked or too thin etc. Then the shading or blending into the natural lip takes place to give it a more completed look. The lips are still bare if you like, but the vermillion line and shape is more pleasing. From there you can use your own lip colour on a day to day basis or leave them bare. So, women often ask for this when they require adjustment to their natural lipline. Lipline and blend are designed to how full, wide, high etc. you want them, ready for the  colour choice you will apply on a day to day basis.

The full lips procedure is all of the above and the complete mouth finished in the colour suited to you.

To answer the question about whether the lipline and full lips procedure look more natural. Both procedures look natural because the pigment is in the skin. The full lips though has the added benefit of looking finished. So, the full lip is all the above and the colour blended right to the edge of the wet area which means you can keep them bare, or  use clear or tinted gloss or balm as you might now.

Question:  How long does each procedure take?

Answer:  Both procedures take approx. 2 hrs from being on the massage table to out the door (maybe a little longer depending on the initial discussion).

Question:  I’m still not sure about the colour – I still like the idea about a natural tone but more on the rosey side. May I decide when I see you?

Answer:   Yes of course! Bring in your normal makeup too and we will match as near as we can, taking into consideration though that we cannot and do not promise you the exact colour of your traditional makeup. This is because of many factors, the colour that is already in your lips and how the pigment colour will react with the unique  colour constitution of youskin.

Client’ comment:  I’ve never had cold sores or fever blisters.

Answer:  That’s fine, but if you have ever had cold sores in your life, that is, even when you were a teen, or fever blisters, through stress, let me know at least two weeks in advance, so we can prepare your lips for the procedure.  They are  common.

Question:  How long does the healing take? Can I go on my holiday after the first week of this micropigmentation?

Answer:  The healing takes only a few days – that is the exfoliation of the outer colour on the skin sloughs off in that time. An ointment or similar is applied every day for a few weeks as they feel dry while the colour is settling in. Another procedure is done soon after the first. The new pigment in the lips changes at times and almost seems to hide for a short period and then comes true after about 3 months. That’s when the makeup feels and looks as if it has always been there. However, having said all that, you may go on your holiday and have little if any discomfort from your permanent makeup. As I said, they will feel extra dry for a time and a second procedure is usually essential for full lip colour saturation.

Question:  So does this  mean I can be more casual about makeup while on holiday?

Answer:  That is what it means. Party time (beach party time?) means you can use a tinted or sparkling gloss or go all out with a lipstick. Full lips cosmetic tattoo changes colour as your skin changes temperature too, for example, if the body is warm it’ll be ‘fuller’ in colour than if it’s cold. Interesting isn’t it?

Question:  Do I have to use sun-block?

Answer:  Permanent makeup needs your care and attention, right from the healing stage until years down the track. Like anything exposed to the elements without protection, fade takes place. Take care of your lips and your colour will serve you well.

Happy holidaying! See you when you get back!
