We always utilize as much brow as we can, as long as they fit the new style. Ladies often ask if we wax the whole brow. Never – but we do get a big OK (and a big thank you) to shape, and wax to correct the original shape, prior to semi-permanent tattooing eyebrows.

Many times clients come in with immaculate brows that just need micro-pigmentation to ease the client’s life-style.

When the lip-line has faded away, or our lips have suddenly lost the plumpness youth gave us; we feel robbed somehow. Last week, I spent a few hours at the Cancer Society Club room in Southport. It was a special day for me as I learnt more about these amazing women present, and how they have overcome or are overcoming Cancer.

It was especially good to be able to offer free areola and nipple tattoo to a few of these ladies at the end of a relaxed, easy and fun talk. We even had time to demonstrate a trauma and phobia modality that suited the occasion. Even that was fun, as the results are most times strikingly successful.

Areola and nipple tattoo, like scar micro-pigmentation produces very fine results when done carefully and considerately. One must take into account what the expectations are – what the client is thinking if you like. Enormous change has happened in these men and women’s lives after their misadventure, or medical diagnosis. Thank goodness too for these support groups, where there is a common interest, where people can be themselves and sometimes find themselves with
genuine empathy and outright humour from others in a similar position.

Lin, who has had a couple of nipples and areolas cosmetically tattooed in my clinic, did a ‘show and tell’ which was greatly appreciated by all. I smiled too, because they
looked pretty good! An added bonus was the lady who modelled for the original course, attended the meeting. So there were four 3D nipple and areolas being shown off.

To wrap it up, I was presented with a bottle of PINK bubbly wrapped with a pink ribbon, among other things. Thank you Cancer Support Sisters!!

Before I go on – Happy New Year everyone! 2012 has already shown promise of great changes and forging ahead in positive ways.

Now, one of the most beautiful looks around this year and last, is soft natural tattoo colour for the mouth. One of the reasons that women hesitate deciding about cosmetic make-up is that they think all the eyebrow hair is waxed away before the procedure. This is not true and most cosmetic tattoo artists are pleased to use all available brow to design the new eyebrows. Occasionally I have had my clients have all brow hair waxed off the following week. The reason they tell me is because they love the new design so much, that is all they need. Personally I feel we could keep what we have,  intact although in many cases there is no, or little natural hair to work with. Here lies just one of the beauty’s of semi-permanent make-up. When women   lose eyebrow hair early in their adult life, the perfect answer is micro-pigmentation to replace eyebrow strokes. This is done within a fabulous powdered,  feathered or 3 dimensional look.

 Another reason ladies are justifiably nervous about their brows (for example) is because they have seen incorrect shapes cosmetically tattooed. We at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo see that perfect eyebrows are very much in the eyes of the beholder, meaning in this case, you the client.

 Another fear of the semi-permanent tattoo procedure  is, “will it all hurt”. We go out of our way to make sure you’re comfort is a prime concern. Now, I’m not going to say it just feels like a tickle initially. Everyone’s pain threshold varies, but when you know what you want and expect gorgeous brows, eyes and lips, somehow you settle in and wait till our cosmetic tattoo numbing gels and cremes make your makeup tattoo procedure comfortable. Then you wait just a few more days and remember why you made the effort.
