One of the greatest things I ever did for myself was enhance my own full lips with cosmetic tattoo. What an extraordinary difference in what had been a nice but unremarkable mouth because of lack of colour. I remember my father saying to me as a child when I was already interested in lipstick, “it makes your lips lose it’s colour”. Of course I know that not to be true and probably didn’t believe it then, but what I did know was that most women look particularly ordinary without a blush of colour on their mouths. It is a common observation when one has barely stepped into the teens. Somewhere along the way to and from adulthood, and certainly during and after menopause; there is a noticeable change in the colour, texture and shape of the mouth.
My client recently had her lips outlined and colour blended to balance and enhance what proved to be her best facial feature. The colour chosen is very natural and perfect for those who have scars or who need more of what they have. It blends with the natural skin and becomes part of you. In this particular case the result gave such an improvement that Jade could not wait to have the rest of the mouth cosmetically tattooed. Having already had her full tattooed eyeliner finished, which gave her an elegance she had not seen before – Jade said the lips made her almost “too pretty”. This comment was said out of sheer supprise when the implanted pigment healed after a few days.
The beauty of a natural lip colour enhancement is that one may just ‘be’ with it. It is an improvement on the natural lip in many of the various ways that one would want it. The vermilion line is the first to look worn and uneven with almost a ‘bleached’ look, and this can happen at any age. We first ask you to draw your own desired lipline and we take a look at your favourite gloss or lipstick shades. Often ladies are not entirely sure what they want and will say “I want them like yours”. This may not be realistic as every lip structure and colour is different. The most natural lipline and blend, and full lip colour is ideal, certainly to start with, and gives a gentle but magnificent enhancement to the shape and colour of the mouth. Having said that, there are many beautiful shades.

Every woman has adorable eyes, and women know that well. This fact is apparent when ladies tell me how they want their eyeliner. This careful description tells me a lot about personality. The eyes they want are so true to their personality that they deserve the enhancement they seek, with semi-permanent makeup.
Women are so fastidious about the shape, colour and thickness of their eyeliner that it becomes very much a part of them. So much so that when the makeup is wiped off (pre-cosmetic tattoo) the difference is so huge that they will not venture out the door until it’s on! We all have our foibles and after all we are human as well. I’ve always maintained that the best reason is the pure and simple convenience of cosmetic makeup. Remember the client’s husband who said “I’d have this beard permanently off if I could”. It’s that practical, apart from looking awesome!
During the month of August, you may if you wish, have a complete eyeliner makeup tattoo with $200 off the finished work. We have some lovely colours and a new and wonderful tattoo numbing creme and gel for your before and during comfort. Look for testimonials in August referring to the above please.
Another service we are offering from now is after surgery Areola and Nipple tattooing. This is done with a 3-Dimentional Areola tattoo technique.
This service is FREE. The difference in the look of the breast after this work, is uncannily real, with shading under part of the nipple to complete the 3-dimentional look. The total delight and satisfaction of once breast cancer patients is a wonderful experience for all of us.
Do not hesitate for a moment to phone to find out more about Areola tattoo.
Have a great August in 2011.
July has already been a busy month.
Several new clients and some of my established clients, have been trotting around to different parts of the world lately. While they have thoroughly enjoyed their tattoo make-up for the most part, wherever they have had it done in the world, especially it’s convenience; there does come a time when they need a cosmetic tattoo refresh.
Sometimes I like to give a little incentive to those who need it.
Until the end of July come in and have your eyebrows revamped starting at $200. If your brows have faded somewhat with all that sun, wind and other exposure (medication and cell renewel plays it’s part) then you may have wished to have come in sooner to re-state the obvious – that you don’t have to do much to look gorgeous.
Yes, it’s too often said that eyebrows really make the difference, and it’s easy to have the ”I’m so glad I still don’t have to draw my eyebrows on” attitude when really you can have so much more with a little regular upkeep.
The nice thing about booking in for another ‘polish’ is that you may decide to change your brow shape or colour. You may have admired someone else’s brows either in a magazine or in a store for that matter, and thought….”that’s actually what I really wanted in the first place”.
Sometimes semi-permanent eyebrow makeup seems such a scary option, but you can get used to the idea of not having to apply brows everyday, rather soon! It takes about a week – the time the eyebrows heal from the first procedure
We are open for your convenience (mostly) on week days and weekends…. for beautiful brows!
Remember giving or receiving a gift on Mothers Day? The whole idea is said to have originated in Ancient Greece, with the Fertility Goddess, Rhea being honoured. Beautiful reflections of love for mothers became known with varying stories all over the world, throughout the ages. For example in the States, in the early 1900’s a simple gesture of wearing a carnation was initiated to celebrate and recognise mothers, and the selfless job of motherhood.
Each year we at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo have mums and daughters come in to ‘observe’ each other having their semi-permanent tattoo applied. It seems that apart from birthdays, this is the perfect ’excuse’ to see how it all goes and also to give to each other something lasting and enjoyable.
Janey has her cosmetic tattoo anesthetic creams especially made for your comfort. These custom made anesthetics are designed to not only numb the areas being cosmetically tattooed, but also to reduce swelling. As well, Janey uses a wonderful technique of cosmetic tattoo, so you may go out after the procedures, confident the world isn’t looking at your new tattoo makeup before looking at you!
So, you will be made warm and comfortable with the choice of a beverage, before the lips are numbed. Every client is given the opportunity to have the latest relaxation techniques before beginning and finally with a gorgeous soft backdrop of music and warm feet. we are soon ready to begin.
Have another look at the specials, and if you want to talk with us about different makeup tattoo procedure, we are a phone call away, and sure to please.
Happy Mothers Day to you!
Janey
Hello, and Happy New Year everyone!
It’s been busier than usual. Whether that is a consequence of the vast rains we have had in this part of the country, I’m not sure. People have been perhaps spending more time thinking and organizing things for themselves for this year in the quiet of indoors, rather than racing around outside in their spare time.
During this unusual whether, I have had many various requests lately for makeup tattooing.
One thing that seems to be on everyone’s minds is ”will you tattoo my eyebrows so they really suit me!” This anxiety is a number one reason why women, I feel, hesitate to have semi-permanent makeup, and rightly so. How many times have we seen eyebrows that are too highly arched, where the artist seemed to have overused his/her creative licence? As well, colour and flow of the brow is essential. It’s rare to have two brows the same as the bone structure and formation of our face is different on each side of the nose. I have clients who appreciate this and like the way one of their eyebrows’ is naturally slightly arched in a cheeky questioned manner, or a little more pronounced in some way. Often these clients ask me to “add that in” for the overall finished look. They love the individuality of their own face. Others are wanting their eyebrows absolutely symmetrical – perfect in every way. That is the way they feel happy to face the world each day.
We know that all our clients appreciate the close working together to achieve the desired look. Above all, I believe, women want a natural, lovely brow that essentially suits them. One that can be altered in colour and shape if necessary, as their makeup tattoo slowly fades over time. Perhaps this is not an easily understood point? The largest organ of the body, our skin, changes remarkably of the years. Weather factors, medication, makeups including skin products, personal habits, emotional issues, and environment, affect our skin enormously. It is because of these issues, cosmetic tattoo also fades.
This is a great opportunity! Over the years I have worked and changed “my ladies’ ” permanent makeup to suit. Things never stay the same, and need not either.
Have a Happy and wonderful New Year. We look forward to helping you change your face of the future. Sounds cheesy I know! But we love it.
Someone asked me the other day “Do men seek permanent makeup?”.
There is certainly a fast growing trend for males to keep up their appearance nowadays. It’s encouraging as well, as I see men who have had ‘harmony’ given back to their faces through shading and simulated hairs added appropriately. I explained that to the typical Australian male this might seem absurd, but when you see how permanent makeup helps give back what nature and the rigors of life takes away, it lightens the heart.
Often requests are made for repairs to eyebrows, enhancements to eyes, and added colour and line to lips. Always this is done ever so carefully, to bring through the most natural fullness and length to brows and perfect adjustment to the lips.
Natural lash enhancement is especially effective, with specially selected colour placed between the lashes to give definiton to the eye. The colour is soft, again always natural, and the transformation awesome.
Oftentimes the girlfriend or wife of a client will approach me after having her own permanent makeup procedures. This usually follows with the other partner having a free consultation whereby I ascertain whether you are an ideal candidate for tattoo. This is based on general health, medications taken and other factors, and of course whether you truely want the difference personally. Natural vegetable pigments are used as they do not change color, however fade will as always take its course over the months and years. Protecting the good work from sun and abrasive activity to the skin is a factor, and as easy as slipping sunscreen over the face and neck as part of your daily routine.
So, whether through, age, injury, medical misadventure or the sheer awareness of what, even minimal permanent makeup can achieve, men are now enquiring, and requesting and having permanent makeup……and feeling so good.
Colouring in….

The year has started in a refreshing new way. Clients and friends are talking of new job placements, new studies, new babies, and new trips and holidays. They are all on the horizon. There’s a positive feeling in the air!
Many ladies have taken advantage of Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo’s specials so far this year too. Some long time clients are coming back for complimentary colour through or above their present semi-permanent eyeliner. The technique allows for equally intense lines or soft smudges of semi-permanent colour to liven and refresh the eyes. Impish green, smokey greys, blues and browns, clear emerald, or ice blue are colours you may be able to imagine now. They are often imaginery colours that materialize from your ideas, and created before you. You, the client are able to conduct where you wish this colour to go, and then little by little, with our professional expertise, and your approval…it’s done! Colour starting deliberate or ashy, as if smudged by an artist’s finger, and finished to a wisp at the eyelid fold – or strong woody lines blending with earth greens that give great shape to your features.
Imagine waking up to all this without even a wave of a wand because you’ve done that already! Could you be nervous at the idea of colour on the lids, that stays? After enjoying lash enhancement or liner for a few months, one inevitably wants to explore more. Well, again it’s a time-saver……and what if you are wearing pinks or blues today and your cosmetic tattoo is in your signature ‘clear aqua’ or a ‘powdered stone’? Natural vegetable pigments create such a natural look that you may brush over with complimentary fuss whenever you like.
Consultations with Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo are always free without obligation. We understand ideas and pictures of beauty materialize best over talk and coffee.
….and a Happy New Year!
Dec 22
As a last addition to our blog page for 2009, we’d like to wish you all, a very Merry Christmas and joyous new year. 2010 brings us new beginnings, full of hope and promise. May you all be guided in following special dreams.
Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo has often advised to allow plenty of time before special celebrations before embarking on a makeover. All for good reason, as a few days at least will make a fun day into a fabulous day or weekend. When every bit of flakiness has vanished you’ll feel, perhaps a little chuffed and maybe aware you are the belle of the ball, or at least tickled by your unsmudgable self-confidence.
Three special notes:
As a Christmas and New Year gift offer, mention this post and you will receive $100 off EACH procedure of your choice (does not include touch ups as a procedure) until the first week of February 2010.
Also, FREE until the first week of February – a BEAUTY SPOT created wherever you want it! No conditions asked of you on this offer!
To finish up on a different note – Please give a thought to abandoned or injured animals at this time of the year. This is the time when many vunerable hearts are left and wanting for new homes, and when country roads are traps for our extraordinary wildlife.
Donations or help is always much appreciated by Trish and Jai http://www.wildcare.org.au. Jai incidently will remove and relocate the odd snake from your property
Safe travel, and all the best for 2010 from us at Gentle Cosmetic Tattoo.

It was brought to my attention the other day that some ladies out there would like some information on what to expect after their semi-permanent make-up. This makes sense to me, and could make the difference as to whether or not one would go ahead with such a procedure, and when.
Before I talk about ‘after care’, I should mention that if you have an important event coming up and you suddenly think “oh I should get some cosmetic tattoo done because we’ll be eating and drinking, celebrating and so on (hey, maybe it’s your wedding day!) and I want to look great the whole time” - it’s a good idea to plan your first cosmetic tattoo appointment at least 2-3 weeks before the special event, and several weeks before full lip procedure. Why? Your new make-up does require a healing period, and care and common sense over this time is important for the best results.
After your first session which includes a consultation, a second meeting is made to check the finer details of the work and to look at colour depth, shape and design. You see, a repeat of the first procedure means deeper, stronger colour and the special flicks, or tasteful wings (for eye liner) or other details you decide on, are often best done at this appointment.
Recognise that to get the desired results of Cosmetic Tattoo require time and attention to detail.
Now, here’s your after care -
Cleansing & Moisturising
Use only water to cleanse the area for the first four days. For example, no cleansers or moisturisers and no oil. Healing balm will be given to you at the completion of the treatment and other ointment or balm may be recommended. Vasoline is also ideal.
Peeling
It is quite normal for the pigment to peel. this occurs during the first week. The degree of peeling may vary. Do not ‘help’ the peeling process in any way. No scratching please.
Swelling
Swelling may occur on the areas which have been treated, such as eyelids and lips. Brows rarely swell.
This usually subsides with a few hours and need not interfere with your normal home/work activities. Applying ice compresses to the area will sooth it and aid swelling.
Lip Line, Lip Blend & Full Lip
Those prone to Herpes Simplex (cold sores) should take L-Lysene for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after the procedure as a preventative. Also applying Zovirax will help. Keep lips moist and avoid lipstick for the first week where possible.
As a remarkable booster to aid healing and general health, I’ve always endorsed ‘Vital Greens’.
Your micro-pigmentation (cosmetic tattoo) will be treated with photonic light therapy for speedy healing before you leave.
I hope this has been a help ladies, and gentlemen too!
